If Instagrammable food, scenic backdrops and a tranquil ambience ticks off the boxes on your café checklist, you can now forget about travelling an hour to patron The Replacement Lodge in Johor Bahru.
A garden-themed café with brunch as its staple, Botanist offers many choices that would satisfy any breakfast lover. Lose yourself in the world of toast and eggs, whether scrambled, poached or sunny side-upped (not sure if this is even a word).
Opt for a Healthy brunch after a session of yoga, or delight in the Brunch Classics — sunny side ups, toast with bacon or pancakes with a dash of honey! Botanist offers many choices that would live up to an ideal Sunday brunch situation.
Cheryl and I had the Breakfast Platter ($23), which was amazingly filling. The meal included a combination of toast, grilled corn, bratwurst sausage, avocado, hash, mushrooms, avocado, and a choice of eggs (scrambled, sunny or poached).
You can also choose to add on a side of truffle fries (literally every table did), and compliment the meal with a cuppa mocha, or coffee of your choice. Featuring the amazing cafe latte art here — I’m so in love with the intricate design of this swan 😍
For the Instagrammers, you’d be grateful to grab a seat outside despite the warmer environment. With stylish lightbulbs, greenery, and wooden themed tables, the cafe does resemble an Innisfree/MUJI-inspired design. The calming atmosphere also offer a respite from the bustling CBD life, though you should definitely dress in cooler clothing…
You can also choose to sit in the air-conditioned interior, where you can indulge in the aroma of food from the kitchen! For $25 each, we did enjoy our brunch in Botanist, and would visit again, especially since there is no GST and service charge. ☺️☺️☺️
